This post will teach you how to refill your HP 93 tricolor ink cartridge in the brief, four-step tutorial we’ve created for you in this post.
This ink cartridge corresponds to the vivera ink generation which was very popular in Latin America. These cartridges, in particular, were made for domestic and small and medium-business use only and yield up to 220 pages and 150 pages when refilled.
The refilling procedure is very easy, just follow the instructions below and you will be able to save money. You must refill each color (yellow, cyan and magenta) with 5 ml of ink. You must be very careful when refilling the ink cartridge to not mix the color disposition. The image below shows you the proper color disposition inside the cartridge, do not be confused by the color disposition on the cartridge label.

Step 1:
Place the ink cartridge on a flat surface where you will be able to refill the cartridge, you can use an old piece of clothing to cover this surface against ink spill. Carefully remove the sticky label from the cartridge, the one with the colors and the number on it, do not discard it because you will stick it back when the refill is completed.
Step 2:
Take your three syringes and fill each of them with 5 ml of ink. Yellow 5 ml, Magenta 5 ml, cyan 5ml and make sure to remove the air from the syringe before the refilling it.
Step 3:

Step #4:
After refilling the ink cartridge with the exact amount of ink mentioned above, please put back the sticky label on the cartridge exactly as you found it in the beginning. Notes:
Please let the cartridge rest for a while before putting it back in the printer. This will allow the ink to soak the sponge inside the cartridge. If you want, you could also shake the cartridge, print head facing downwards, to make the ink drop even more.

If the ink cartridge is not working properly after being refilled, please follow the instructions below.
- Take the ink cartridge out and clean the contacts.
- Clean the contacts on the printer exactly where they come in touch with the ones on the cartridge.
- If this doesn’t solve the issue, remove the cartridge from the printer and turn the printer OFF for two hours put it back and turn the printer back ON.
