How to restore the HP F4180 printer

The HP F4180 multifunction printer is one of the best HP printers for domestic use. This printer was created during the HP golden age and work with the HP 21 and HP 22 ink cartridges given it a relatively high page yield.

Trying to install a refilled ink cartridge can be a little bit difficult. The LED indicator will start blinking and you will receive an error message when using a refilled cartridge with this printer. However, you can solve this error by restoring your printer back to its original factory settings; it is an easy process and it will take less than 10 minutes to accomplished.

How to restore the HP F4180 printer back to factory settings:

Before starting the restoring process, please check your ink cartridge contacts and clean them if they are covered with ink. However, if the problem persists after you have cleaned the ink cartridges, the next option is to restore the printer back to its original factory settings mode to solve the problem.

Step #1:
Turn off the printer using the ON/OFF button. Check the image below to locate the ON/OFF button if you do not know where to find it. It is usually found on the printer's main panel.

Step #2:
Next, disconnect the USB and power cables from your printer. The USB cable sends data from your computer to your printer, while the power cord supplies the printer with electricity. The following image will show you where to locate the USB cable.

Step #3:
Press and hold the ON/OFF and cancel button on your printer simultaneously. This button is usually marked with an X and can be located on the main panel of the printer, check the picture below:

Step #4:
While keeping both buttons pressed down, replug the printer’s power cord as shown in the picture below.

Step #5:
You should now let go of of both buttons at the same time. The LED indicators will blink for a short time, and after about 5 seconds the printer will go back to normal.
