Most of the time, these HP 10 ink cartridges are used on HP Designjet printers and come in two different presentations: normal size, and extra-large size. We have worked very hard on these refill instructions to give you many details as possible, please follow correctly the steps below to refill your Hp 10 ink cartridges.
Materials needed to refill the Hp 10 ink cartridge:
First of all, you will need to properly identify each color, failing to do so will damage the ink cartridge and you will not be able to refill it.
Step #1:
Place the ink cartridge on a flat surface and a piece of black cloth before starting the refill process.
Step #2:
You will need to refill this ink cartridge by removing the bottom part and exposing the ink injector, the pump, and the proper refill hole. Please take a good look at the following picture to know where to remove the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Please cut the label off exactly where indicated in the previous picture. The red line marks the spot, so please cut over that line to divide the ink cartridge in two. This will expose the bottom of the ink cartridge.
Step #3:
After removing the label, the ink cartridge will look like the picture below. You will need to make this cut using an empty syringe, and you must try to make a small, black rubber ball come out of the ink cartridge with it. The picture marks it with #1.
Take the black rubber ball out of the ink cartridge very carefully, and keep it from receding to the back of the ink cartridge. Be very aware of the ball not going inside the cartridge.
Step #4:
Fill the syringes with the appropriate amount of ink. If you are using a normal sized ink cartridge, add 30ml to each syringe. If, on the other hand, you’re using an extra-large one, please add 50ml of ink.
We do not recommend refilling these particular ink cartridges with pierce syringes because they could perforate the metal sheet inside the ink cartridges and cause ink spills. Insert the needle only a little bit in the ink cartridge to avoid piercing this metal.
Step #5:
Put the black rubber ball back in the ink cartridge, it will act as a cap and keep the ink from leaking out of the cartridge. Remember to do this softly to avoid pushing it into the ink cartridge, they’re very hard to replace and it could damage the ink cartridge.
Sat the ink cartridge for a couple of minutes with the rubber facing downwards, and check if everything worked out perfectly, especially if there is no ink leaking from the injection hole or the part you just closed with the black rubber.
Step #6:
Place the bottom lid back on the ink cartridge and leave the lid facing down, on the piece of cloth just to check for any problems or ink spills. Your ink cartridge is ready and should print without problem, if it is not the case, please leave a comment in the section below.
