This post will teach you all you need to know about common printing problems on HP officejet 5600 printers and how to solve them.
These problems can affect many printer models from the HP 5600 series, such as the HP Officejet 5605, the HP Officejet 5608, the HP Officejet 5610, the HP Officejet 5610v, and the HP Officejet 5610xi All-in-One Printers. All these printers could have this same problem that you will be able to notice when the LED indicator starts blinking like the image below:
An ink cartridge error message will appear on your printer's screen, this error can be caused by many different errors such as:
Step #1:
Take the ink cartridge out, take a good look at it and check to see if it needs to be cleaned. If it’s dirty or in bad shape, you will need to do it.
Step #2:
Please keep your printer ON at all times during these procedures.
Step #3:
In order to take the ink cartridges out the frontal printer gate, please wait until they have reached a comfortable changing position.
This will grant you access to the ink cartridges and let you review and clean them, as stated in this post.
Step #4:
Touch the print heads and contacts on the ink cartridges as little as possible. Be very careful and attentive in order to keep them from harm.
In the picture, #1 points at the contacts, which you might need to clean if the ink cartridges are sending out error messages, and #2 points at the ink injectors on the cartridge. This is where the ink leaves the cartridge to be set on the paper sheet. Please check the contacts and ink injectors are both clean and free of any ink residues.
Step #5:
If you realize there is nothing to be done with this ink cartridge, you can now replace it with a new or remanufactured one.
Please remember to remove the ink ribbon wrapping the ink cartridge to avoid damaging it before the installation process.
This is how you should remove the protective yellow ribbon on your ink cartridges. Please remove the ribbon as slowly as possible to avoid damaging it or detach the contacts on your ink cartridges.
Step #6:
Now, you should only put the HP ink cartridge back to the printer once you have removed the yellow ribbon. Check the picture below to see how to correctly put back the cartridge.
Repeat this procedure and do it firmly so the contacts stay attached to their proper location. If the ink cartridge contacts are in place, you will be able to reach maximum functioning and lower the chance of general cartridge malfunction.
Step #7:
It recommended cleaning the ink cartridge contacts but do not leave the cartridge out of the printer for more than 30 minutes.
If you choose to ignore this advice, you may have some problems with the contacts on your cartridge.
Please unplug the printer before performing any cleaning task. These are the ink cartridge contacts we are talking about.
Step #8:
After all this procedure is done, your printer will automatically print a test sheet, which you must now have the printer scan. You can read our post regarding this subject called “My printer continues to print test sheets.” Once it’s scanned, your printer should start working and printing normally.
If the test sheet has medium or deficient print quality, please read our post to learn how to unclog the ink cartridges on your printer.
Unfortunately, something could still go wrong with this procedure, even if you follow each and every step. If this is your case, please leave a comment in the section below this post and we will get back to you.
