If you’re using the proper ink cartridge for your printer mode, reinstall it, clean the contacts on the cartridge and the carriages. If this doesn’t help, replace the ink cartridge entirely.
To find out if the ink cartridge is faulty, look at its current status on the computer screen, remove both ink cartridges and place them back inside one by one. If there are more than two colored ink cartridge in the printer at the same time, the printer will usually say the Black one is defective.
